Miss America 2012: Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler was crown as Miss America Saturday night (Jan. 14) in Las Vegas. Kaeppeler won the pageant and its $50,000 prize. Kaeppeler, 23, beat out 53 other contestants and takes over the crown from Teresa Scanlan, who, as a then-17 year-old Miss Nebraska, became the youngest woman ever to win the pageant, in 2011.
Miss Oklahoma Betty Thompson came in second, and Miss New York Kaitlyn Monte took third place.
