Malachy the Pekingese crown as best in show at the Westminster Dog Show 2012. He beat out a Dalmatian, German shepherd, Doberman pinscher, Irish setter, a Kerry blue terrier and wire-haired dachshund at Madison Square Garden.
According to nationalpost.com, Malachy will make the round of morning TV talk shows, have a steak dinner Wednesday at legendary Manhattan restaurant Sardi’s and ring the opening bell on Thursday at the New York Stock Exchange.
Handler David Fitzpatrick said the little dog would now retire to the life of a house pet, saying “he won’t be doing commercials, he’s been working hard enough for the past two years.”
